Today is the 2nd last day of music class. Today, Mr Hary told us our manual reflection scores. I got a 4 (for now) because ive never filled out my instrument reflections. He also told us our instrument scores, i passed because i got an 8.5! Next time i will update more regularly, i also have to submit a paper.

May 24

Today is the day of the instrument assessment. I was surprised that everyone had the chance to do their assessments today, because usually we don't have time and we have to continue the next day. I thought almost everyone was well prepared. By almost, i mean not everyone, and that includes me. I thought i wasn't well prepared for this assessment and I'm pretty sure i will get an unsatisfying score. I will hope for he best and i will practice more for our next redo.

21 May

Today almost everyone in class got the chance to go to the front and practice. Every one sounded very nice and everyone was also very prepared and ready. Even the ones new to the instrument were able to play so fluently, but it also made me a bit nervous because i'm afraid of having to redo.

14 May

Today we were given our scores for our written assessment. I got a 7/8 and i am very proud of it because i passed. After that, we played a little game where we Mr Hary would point on a note, and we would have to sing it. It was fun and it coached our pitching skills. Next week is the Instrument assessment.

10 May

Today we did the usual and let two people from each instrument class to practice their song in front of the class. Today, I am one of them and I had to play my song on the violin (Allegro). I felt good and I wasn't nervous, and that is a good sign because that means i won't have to worry too much about the assessment.

7 May

Today Mr Hary gave us notations on note-naming. After that, as usual, we let 2 people from each instrument class to come up front and play their song they will play for the instrument class assessment.I think I am ok, but i still need to practice because sometimes it gets squeaky.

3 May

Today we did a comprehension quiz on JS Bach. Mr Hary said we had to do this so it could boost up our written test score. After that, we started practicing our baroque songs for instrument assessment in front of the class.

30 April

Mr Hary is back to school today and everyone greeted him warmly. Today, he let us finish our written tests and update them, and this time he let us open our notes. I THANK HIM SO MUCH FOR DOING THAT! it made me boost up my score because I wrote in the spaces I left blank. Next time, I shouldn't leave any blank spaces at all, but i also need to be really sure with my answers.

26 April

Mr John substituted music class for today. today is the written test day and i felt i was ready. Mr. John even gave us 15 minutes extra time to study before we do the test. However, when I got the paper, there were questions that I didn't know the answer to. i didn't panic and decided to leave that space blank. Overall, i thought i did good and i also answered most of the questions, so I'm alright. if i were able to do this test again, i will make time to study more.

23 April

Mr. Sadrakh substituted the class for today because Mr Hary was in the hospital because of an accident. He talked about our upcoming written test and told us what we should study for, and what will be in it. He also gave a chance to some students who still needed to redo. 

19 April

Some people didn't reach the passing score for the singing assessment, so those people redo-ed their assessments today. Mr. Hary said I didn't need to because I got a perfect score. Next week, there will be a written test about baroque composers and music, and I have to re-read my booklet to study for it.

16 April

Today we did our singing assessments. I got a perfect score! (10/10) i am very proud of myself and that score really boosted up my confidence, for only 3 people including me got a perfect score. I thought all of my friends did a great job, but i also feel that i need to be a better audience member and not laugh or disturb people when they are singing.

12 April

Next week, we will do our singing assessments, which is singing Santa Lucia. because of that, we practiced the song and did a few voice warm-ups. I am confident about the assessment because singing in front of a crowd isn't something that i find difficult to do.

9th April

Today is the first day of the 4th term. Mr Hary introduced us to the upcoming tasks and assessment. he also gave us a sheet of lyrics or a song entitled "Santa Lucia", and we sang it a few times. He also gave us back our booklets so we can study for the written test. The song was Italian, so it made it funner to sing :)

19 March

Today in music 8 students from different instrument classes (including me) practiced in font of the class. i didnt feel nervous or anything and i felt confident instead. i only had to do the scale A major scale on my violin and play my music composition, but only 8 bars of it. I feel like i could've done better though, so when I go home, I have to practice more. personally, i think all of us need more time to practice.

15 March

Today in music, Mr Sadrack FIANLLY converted our (as in violin class students') songs into A. We've been waiting for so long and we're happy he finally did it for us because we dont know how to convert a song, and we need it to be converted so we can play it. We also saw more of our friends practice their music compositions. I think i should learn how to convert my own song, so i don't have to depend on Mr sadrakh, because i know he has alot more work to do besides helping me.

12 March

Today in music class we practiced our dance movement compositions for PE. All of the groups from our class performed, including mine. i'm in the first group so my group and I perform first. we manage to do the movements perfectly, but our movement composition was too fast, because we followed the beat of the song that was playing. after that, we figured out that we have to do it rather slowly, so our movements stop as the music stops. i learnt to collaborate with my group and listen to feedback.

8th March

Today in music I saw some of my friends from class practice playing their music compositions. 1 from guitar, 1 from piano, 1 from flute and 1 from violin. We saw them perform so we would know what would happen later in our real assessment. This taught me that i have to practice really hard and do my best during my assessment, and wish for the best.

27th February

Today mr Hary explained to us how to use finale again, since some of us are still confused. even though I already submitted hard copy (printed) i still need to submit the soft copy (email). luckily, i already have so i dont have anything to worry about.

20th February

Today Mr Hary taught us about finale and how to work on finale, like how to use it and how to edit the composition. He told us that we had to type a 32 bar melody composition into an application called 'finale'. i submitted my composition early (on the 24th). I didnt put the chords on the paper because i didnt know i had to, but he didnt deduct my score because i was early.

13th february

Today mr Hary and Mr Herry explained to us what we should do to our Baroque music booklet and what it should contain, and how it should look like. i understood them completely and was ready to do the task. I submitted it on the 20th and i almost got a perfect score. my points were deducted because i didn't submit it in spiral binding. Next time, i have to bind it correctly.

9th February

Today in music we made our own composition with our instrument group (i'm in the violin group). we had to make 16 bars and i thought it was fun to make and it turned out to be good. next time, i think i have to improve on my songwriting skills. I'm glad that Mr Hary will give us tips on how to make a good melody with chords next week

6 February

Today in music we did more notations on notes and scales, Mr. Hary also gave us tips on how to write a song. we wrote our own 4-bar melodies and some of our melodies were played. i can't wait to learn more next week.

2nd Februrary

Today in music i learnt about counting the beats. 1 black note equals 1 beat, 1 white note equals 2 beats, one white note with a dot equals 3 beats, and a note without a stick equals 4 :) i wrote them down just in case i forget ( which is unlikely). Next time, we have to make a booklet about baroque composers and the era they were in. better start researching!

30th JAnuary

Today in music class we did a notation on scales again ( I thought this was getting boring, but i knew we had to learn it to write songs, so i listened to the teacher.) After that, we saw our friends redo the singing assessment because they didnt do too well on the first try.

26th January

Today in music class we had he singing assessment. We sang in duets and i sang with Astrella. we found out that we both had a 10/10 score, which was very good and we were very proud. I thought i did well, and so did my classmates.

1st day of term 3

Today Mr Hary taught us about scales and we also sang an Indonesian song entitled Hari Merdeka. I liked it and it was fun, but I wanted to have an instrument class. We will have a singing assessment on the 26th of January so that means I will have to practice!
